John L. Shannon, Jr. - President & Chief Executive. He was Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Everest Medical Corporation from 1993 to 2000, and was President and Chief Executive Officer of EdenTec Corporation from 1989 to 1993. From 1985 to 1989, Mr. Shannon was President of Threshold Ventures, Inc., a Minneapolis-based venture capital company and served as President of the Minnesota Venture Capital Association, a non-profit industry group, from 1987 to 1988. He also has held marketing, strategic planning, business development and financial positions at SciMed Life Systems, Inc. and The Toro Company. He received a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Minnesota.
James A. Peterson - Vice President, Advanced Development. Mr. Peterson has over 35 years of experience in the medical device industry, most recently in business development positions at Medtronic Inc. In addition to product development expertise, he has extensive sales and marketing experience at Medical Incorporated and Medtronic. Mr. Peterson was a principal in a surgical product distribution company, an industrial robotics business, a telecommunications service firm, and has served as a consultant to medical device companies. He has prior surgical experience as a member of the armed services.
David B. Herridge - Vice President, Engineering. He held various engineering and operations positions with TERAMed, Inc., a start-up device company, from 1998 to 2002, most recently as Director of Operations, Strategy and Logistics. He held various engineering and operational positions with Nike, Inc. and SciMed Life Systems, Inc. From 1986 to 1992, Mr. Herridge held engineering positions focused on polymeric development with 3M Corporation. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Manufacturing Systems Engineering degree from the University of St. Thomas.
David M. Stoen - Vice President, Operations. He was employed by Acist Medical Systems, Inc. from 1998 to 2001, most recently as Vice President of Manufacturing. From 1996 to 1998, he was a project manager for Graseby Medical, Inc. Mr. Stoen held various positions with 3M, Inc. from 1980 to 1996, most recently as Manufacturing Operations Manager. During his tenure at 3M, he was responsible for scaling up a disposable metal skin stapling line from pilot production to a production facility. Mr. Stoen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Ronald W. McClurg - Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. He has held Chief Financial Officer positions at Wavecrest Corporation, Video Sentry Corporation, Insignia Systems, and Orthomet over the past fifteen years. Mr. McClurg has public accounting experience with Ernst & Young from 1981 to 1983. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
